The job/internship hunt isn’t always easy, especially when you’re not sure where to go or how to start the process. Luckily, all around the city and in surrounding areas are plenty of opportunities just waiting to be discovered! No matter what your major or interests may be, there’s sure to be a position with your name written all over it. So how can you find the oh-so-perfect job or internship? Well, here are 3 places to go/things to do:

  • Use your college/university career center. They’re a fantastic resource! Career centers send out notices of the most recent job/internship openings from partner businesses, companies, and organizations looking for college students or recent grads, so that you can be among the first to apply. Resume and cover letter workshops, mock interviews, and career fairs are a few of the other services that they provide.
  • Seize all networking opportunities. Why? Because more than half of all job/internship openings are not promoted or posted online. Sometimes, the only way to find out about a particular position is by word of mouth. Connecting and building relationships with professionals in your field can help your name stand out among those of other applicants, get you acquainted with people who know people, and maybe even scoop you up a job reference or referral!
  • Visit campusphilly.com/careers. Not only are hundreds of employment opportunities posted on our site, with new ones being constantly added, but Campus Philly Careers also hosts several career events each year. Our upcoming Opportunity Fair, taking place June 18th at Villanova, will bring representatives from graduate programs, potential employers looking for students to hire, and information on volunteer programs together in one place. Find out more information about the event and how to register here!
