Villanova Students Use Cell Phones to Improve Healthcare In Nicaragua

This Spring, Villanova students from Business without Boarders, Nursing Without Borders, and Engineers Without Borders will be traveling to Waslala, Nicaragua to help expand project called Tele-health. Healthcare is offered in Nicaragua but access to doctors is limited. Through the Tele-health program, Villanova students will be teaching Waslala residents how to text blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and other information to nearby physicians to help get ill residents care.

Cotton Inc. To Feature PhillaU Students Designs in 24 Hour Runway Show

Senior Philadelphia University Fashion Design student  Alicia Pinckney, is the winner of the runway show selection contest! As a part of the contest, Pinckney has been chosen to receive an all-expenses paid trip to Miami for herself and her menswear designs so that they can be featured in Cotton Inc.’s upcoming runway show!

Students from Rutgers Camden Providing Tax Assistance through Volunteer Program

Starting on January 29, Rutgers-Camden Law students via the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance project, will be providing free tax assistance to local Camden residents. The sessions will be held at the Nilsa I. Cruz-Perez Bowntown branch of the Camden County Library.

Arcadia University Hosts “Forgotten Philadelphia” exhibit

Until Feb.20, Arcadia University will be the home of  the “Forgotten Philadelphia” art exhibit by Judith Taylor. The writings of Arcadia’s own faculty librarian Michelle Reale ’99, will also be featured in this unique exhibit.

Penn State Brandywine raising money for Abuse Prevention. 

On March 22 at 6:30pm and on March 23 at 2:00 pm, Penn State Brandywine will be hosting benefit showings of “The Vagina Monologues” to raise money for abuse prevention. Penn State’s own  faculty, students, and alumni will stand in as performers and volunteers for the shows. Counseling services at Brandywine will also hosts workshops running along the same themes throughout February.
