CAREER FAIR IS CANCELED

Dear colleagues:

Campus Philly and the Life Science Career Alliance (LSCA) will be canceling the November 19 Life Sciences ’09 Career Fair, which was to be held at Thomas Jefferson University.

Students and employers can continue to match for internship, co-op and job opportunities now and year-round at www.campusphilly.org/careers. Currently, 225 internship and job positions are posted online from 35 companies in the Greater Philadelphia area.

We are committed to strengthening internship and career path opportunities for the region’s college talent and to serving the needs of employers in the tri-state biotech, bioengineering, research and pharmaceutical sectors. Unfortunately, the economic climate was not adequate for us to recruit enough participating employers for next week’s career fair event.

Thank you to the fourteen economic development groups and business associations that helped to spread the word to their associated employers, to our event sponsors, and to Campus Philly’s participating colleges and universities. And special thanks to Thomas Jefferson University for agreeing to host the event.

As we move forward with an industry survey and additional life sciences outreach efforts, we will keep you posted.

Campus Philly and Life Science Career Alliance invite Greater Philadelphia’s employers and education institutions to recruit talented undergraduate and graduate students.

The Life Sciences 09 career and internship fair brings:

• STUDENTS from science, engineering, pharmaceutical & business programs;

• EMPLOYERS from life sciences research, engineering, pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostic and medical device firms; and

• EDUCATORS from science, research, engineering and business schools

The event will feature a career expo for companies recruiting for internship,
co-op and entry-level job positions, a graduate studies fair, and educational seminars.
