In the tradition of the Christian Brothers, La Salle University is dedicated to excellence in teaching, respect for the student and the development of values in its students. It is a private, Roman Catholic university committed to providing a liberal education of both general and specialized studies.
There are 22 NCAA Division I sports teams on campus. La Salle is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. There are also club and intramural sports. Facilities include: two gyms, tennis courts, a swimming pool, playing fields, an outdoor track, and a weight room.
The more 100 student organizations and activities on campus range from fraternities and sororities to societies based on a specific major. For example, the Chymian Society is an organization whose members are interested in chemistry. There are also several organizations involved in community service, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters. There are ethnic clubs, political organizations and club sports as well.

Campus Tours, Interviews and Classes:
La Salle provides tours of the campus and interviews with Admissions Counselors Monday through Friday. A tour usually lasts about an hour. While interviews are not mandatory, we encourage you to meet your counselor following the tour. Please make an appointment through the Admissions Office at either 215.951.1500 or 800.328.1910. If you would like to sit in on a class, you may request that when making an appointment. La Salle asks for one-week notice when setting up classroom visits.
In addition to tours and interviews, La Salle also hosts several Open Houses in the fall and winter on a Saturday. Beginning at 9AM and continuing until 1PM, La Salle offers an Admission session, a Financial Aid session, an Athletics session, and an Honors Program session. There is also an Academic Fair during the lunch portion of the event where every academic major will be represented. The University can accommodate 2,114 resident students in its 12 resident halls, two apartment complexes, and 75 townhouses. The resident halls include single, double, and triple rooms. All halls are co-ed by floor. Apartments and townhouses, which are typically for upper classmen, are the most popular housing choices. Housing is guaranteed for all four years.
