Campus Philly Stakeholder Newsletter

August 2017

Campus Philly’s My Philly Summer Party welcomed about 200 summer interns from throughout the region to the Free Library of Philadelphia’s roof deck.

August is the month that Campus Philly goes to regional campuses to meet incoming freshmen, transfer students and returning students. We make about 100 visits to our 34 college partner campuses this month and next and meet thousands of students during this time. Our goal is to get them to fall in love with Philly by equipping them to get off campus and meet each other. There are so many resources students can turn to, so many events, communities and activities to participate in, that it can be overwhelming. Campus Philly helps students feel that the world outside of campus has something to offer them and is easy to navigate. You’ll read about how we’re doing this in the fall semester in the newsletter below.

In the coming year, we’ll be more focused on registering groups of students for our career launching and Open Arts events. If you are a faculty member or staff at a local college or university, please be in touch with us about these new group registration efforts. Students arriving at events together from campus provides a comfortable, friendly introduction to off campus venues and programs.

We look forward to seeing you and hearing from you in the year ahead! Sincerely,

Deborah Diamond

Campus Philly – Already On Campus

Campus Philly visits partner campuses every summer and fall to connect with students as part of its Meet Philly Tour. The visits provide students with information about off-campus programs and resources by tabling at involvement fairs, welcome week and freshmen orientation events.

This year’s Meet Philly Tour features new poster swag (below) from Joi Waller, a 2017 graduate of Moore College of Art and Design. The posters represent Philadelphia’s unique and authentic style. Students receive these for free during the Meet Philly Tour!
