As you probably know, getting a job or internship in an industry that you are interested in is a great way to find out if that is a path that you would want to pursue for the foreseeable future, or whether a different path would work better for you. This week, we give you five different opportunities to explore different industries and opportunities: as a junior financial analyst for Beneficial Bank, client relationship specialist from finance giant Vanguard, project intern for creative-agency-for-social-good Here’s My Chance, junior research technician for  cancer research organization JBS Sciences, and social media intern for creative agency Grayson Sky. Beneficial Bank: Junior Financial Analyst
For all of the finance and accounting people out there, launch your career at Beneficial Bank as a junior financial analyst. Help Beneficial with their financial planning and budgeting, profitability, forecasting, interest rate risk, and reporting systems. Responsibilities will include preparing and analyzing monthly and quarterly management reports and participating in the annual budget process. Applicants should have a bachelor’s in finance or accounting.

Vanguard: Client Relationship Specialist
Explore another side of the finance industry as a client relationship specialist with Vanguard. You would be assisting all types of investors with meeting their financial goals – the young adult opening a first account, a family saving for a child’s college education, a married couple investing for their first home, a high net worth client preserving her wealth, or an entrepreneur managing his small-business retirement plan. Applicants should have outstanding communications skills and be comfortable with using virtual technology to assist clients.

Here’s My Chance: Project Intern for Next Stop Democracy
Local creative agency Here’s My Chance was just selected as one of the winners of the Knight Cities Challenge for their project “Next Stop: Democracy” and are looking for an intern to help them increase civic engagement during the 2015 Mayoral Election. Applicants should be familiar with local government and Philadelphia politics and be ready to jump into a major, fast-moving project. Background in public policy, political science or government preferred.

JBS Science: Junior Research Technician
Use your science skills to help eliminate cancer as a junior research technician with JBS Science. Requirements for the position include a bachelor’s degree in the life sciences with a basic understanding of genetics, proficiency in PCR and molecular biology techniques, and computer literacy skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience working with next-generation sequencing sample preparation is highly desirable.

Grayson Sky: Social Media Management Internship Support 
Working closely with the agency’s digital strategist, the social media management intern for Grayson Sky will curate content for posting, work closely with the digital strategist and copy to ensure all content is on message with the client brand and minor ad copy creation. Applicants should have a knowledge of social media platforms, be able to adapt voice and tone depending on the content, and be able to start immediately.
