#LegitCPtips: Give Attention to Your LinkedIn


LinkedIn is brilliant, and I don’t think it receives as enough attention as it should for being a social, but also professional platform. Do your go-getter self a favor and make it a rule to check LinkedIn before any other social media platform from now on. Even just accepting a recent connection, or showing that you were active 2 days ago compared to 45 gives your profile life! It is not as exciting as the latest viral dog video, or pretty Instagram pictures, but it gets the job done, or gets the job.

LinkedIn brings the jobs to you: After you create a profile, you can set up email alerts to receive notifications on jobs.

This is where you can closely connect with professionals: Besides networking and events, LinkedIn is a great substitute to come as close as possible to professionals.

It is your insider guide on a company: Use LinkedIn to research companies and get to know what they are about and if they are a good fit for you.

LinkedIn lets companies see you: Yes students go out to look for companies, but some instances companies come out to look for you, and guess where they will look: LinkedIn.

This is your extended resume. Preparing yourself as early as possible keeps you ahead of the game when it comes time to find that internship or job. You owe it to yourself to place yourself in the best position for future success in your professional career.
