Let’s taco-bout how it’s National Taco Day!

BlogGraphics-hangoutspot

In case you didn’t know…October 4th is National Taco Day! In the spirit of one of my favorite foods, here are some of the top taco places in the Philadelphia area. Go out and try one (or them all) let us know which you thought was the best. Happy eating!

Buena Onda | 1901 Callowhill St

Buena Onda directly translates to “good vibes” in Baja, and this place is only giving off good vibes.  From classic tacos, fresh fish tacos and quesadillas, there’s something for everyone. Do-gooder fact: Buena Onda works with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program to keep oceans healthy and have less of an impact on the environment.

El Rey 2013 Chestnut St

What’s not to love about this diner turned Mexican eatery? With it’s funky, old school street decor,  you feel like you’ve been transported back to the 70’s. You’ll be able to take it all in while you’re sitting in El Rey’s classic diner booths. They have awesome lunch deals, like $10 for an appetizer and an entree. You can’t beat that!

Taco Riendo Restaurant | 1301 N 5th St

A very authentic restaurant that’s always good for a quick, on-the-go meal. Pssst…The counter seating makes it a great place to fly solo and treat yourself.  Most items on the menu are under $10, and you get a lot of food for you money. Pro-tip: Bring your dollar bills because it’s cash only!

Sancho Pistola’s | 19 W Girard Ave

Equally as authentic as the rest, but maybe a little more fancy for college students. If you’re looking for a place for the parents to take you when they come visit, definitely drop hints to Sancho Pistola’s.

Cantina Los Caballitos | 1651 East Passyunk Ave

As soon as you take your seat, you’ll get the chips and salsa hook up for GRATIS (free). Let us know if you’re on team green or red– once you go, you’ll know what I’m talking about. The tacos are always on point and the atmosphere is warm and cozy.

There you have it Taco Lovers! A couple of places you should look into next time you’re craving a taco. Try them out, and any other places you find. If you have any recommendations for places, tweet Campus Philly and let us know!
