The Supreme Court in Transition: A View from the Frontlines | 10/26 at 12:00pm
Meet at the National Constitution Center and attend a discussion with top legal journalists, Robert Barnes, Lincoln Caplan and Marcia Coyle. In this part of the Center’s Election 2016 Program Series, they’ll be examining the state of a 4-4 Supreme Court in transition as well as the differences between a Clinton Court and a Trump Court.
Speed Secrets: Lessons Learned from a Sports Medicine Physician | 10/26 at 6:00pm
At the Parkway Central Library, Dr. Michael Ross, a board certified, non-surgical sports medicine physician at Rothman Institute, will be discussing tips on how to improve your times through effective training and physiological tweaks.
Grahame Lesh: Growing Up Grateful Dead | 10/27 at 2:00pm
The National Museum of American Jewish History will be hosting this exciting series of afternoon preview events, this one with son of Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, Grahame Lesh. Grahame will be putting on an acoustic performance that includes stories of growing up around the Grateful Dead and how Bill Graham impacted his life.
Black Magic Bash at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens | 10/29 at 7:00pm
This one’s for you all 21 and over, get into the spooky spirit this Halloweekend at this breathtaking mosaicked warehouse! With music by the West Philadelphia Orchestra, food from South Philly Barbacoa, and drinks from Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and Saint Benjamin Brewing Company all included in your ticket, your night will without a doubt be spook-tacular!
World Premiere. Justin Gonzalez is “Telling Stories” | 10/30 at 2:00pm
The Multicultural Arts Exchange of CultureTrust presents the composer with a story that begins before the pen hits paper. Justin Gonzalez, known as Philadelphia’s “treasured tenor”, is known for his “expressive mastery” that tells stories before the performance of songs that cross languages and styles.
Science After Hours: Creature of the Night | 10/31 at 7:00pm
Another 21 and over event, learn and have some fun this Halloween at The Franklin Institute! Science with a twist includes experiments, demonstrations, games and innovative science curated by the museum in collaboration with organizations across Philly. Head over with your best costume and be prepared to have some fun.
Tuesday Nights at the Movies – Schalcken the Painter | 11/1 at 7:30pm
The Woodmere Art Museum presents the Gothic film that will pull the audience into a “shadowy fantasy world” of real-life painters Gerrif Dou and Godfried Schalcken. Tuesday Nights at the Movies is sponsored by the Chestnut Hill Local and presented with the Chestnut Hill Film Group.
