Philly To-Do: End of April Picks

From closing the book on your first year of college to throwing your caps in the air, May is a milestone month. The build up to such a monumental time should be a fun one, so here are our end of April event picks.

Last year’s carnival featured “Sumo Robot” matches, animals from the Philadelphia Zoo and more.

Fairmount Avenue Arts Crawl
Sunday, April 30 | 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. | Fairmount Ave.

Check out this free indoor/outdoor festival for art lovers of all mediums, which transforms the Art Museum Area of Philadelphia into an eclectic showcase of local artists and performers in its streets, restaurants, businesses, shops and bars. The event features emerging and ground-breaking artists in a range of media including painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, and mixed-media. The festival includes more than 40 exhibits in all!

Flavors on the Avenue: A Street Festival
Sunday, April 30 | 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. | East Passyunk Ave.

The brand-new street festival will feature five blocks of street food, seasonal sips, craft beer, live music, sidewalk sales and free family fun on five blocks – from Broad to Dickinson streets.

Twenty-seven award-winning restaurants and bars will bring their signature cuisine outside under the blue skies.  Craft beer and wine will pour from the festival beer tent – and select restaurants will also offer seasonal cocktails, beer and wines for the crowds.
