How many days of school do you have left? If you aren’t already, you’ll soon be counting them down on your fingers. While you’re wrapping a busy school year, May events are just getting started. Check out our picks for the first week of May and get a head start on enjoying Philly summer-style.

Monday Movie Night @ The Trocadero: La La Land
Monday, May 1 from 6:30 – 11 p.m. | 1003 Arch Street | 21+

Doors open at 6:30, film starts at 8. Arrive before 7 p.m. or come dressed to the door dressed as a character form the film and give us a song and dance number at the door and you will receive a free drink! $3 gets you in and goes towards a snack or drink at the bar.


Spring Training at Dilworth Park

Philly Tech Week Block Party
Thursday, May 4 from 4 – 8 p.m. | Schmidt’s Commons, 1001 N. 2nd Street

Philadelphia Art Book Fair
Friday, May 5 – Saturday, May 6 | Twelve 27, 1227 N. 4th Street

The annual Philadelphia Art Book Fair which showcases a wide range of exhibitors, from large and small photography and art book publishers to individual artists and institutions, local, national and international. Free and open to the public, the Book Fair will feature book signings and a host of published works to peruse, review and add to your collection.


South Street Spring Festival
Saturday, May 6 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. | South Street between Front & 8th Streets

South Street kicks off Philly’s summer festival season with a totally free, all day, all-ages celebration of the city’s best sights, sounds, tastes and sips. HIGHLIGHTS: 40 bands rocking three stages and seven performance areas,  30+ restaurants/bars serving outside, dozens of artists selling their handmade wares, Free Comic Book Day, Maifest and Philly’s largest Maypole + more!


Clover Market: Collingswood
Sunday, May 7  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | 735 N. Atlantic Ave, Collingswood, NJ 

Featuring a rotating lineup  of over 100 vendors, food trucks, hands-on kids’ crafts, abundant retail & restaurant options all around town, meet and greets with local animal rescues and more. Family and dog-friendly and free admission.
