A New Social Bike Ride Takes You Through Car-Free Philly For An Epic Adventure

CampusPhilly-BlogPost-01

Get ready to take over car-free Philly by bike in the city’s newest social bike ride. Kicking off in just a couple of weeks (on October 15), Philly Bike Ride invites riders to a social and non-competitive bike ride, making cycling safe, fun, and accessible for everyone.

The 20-mile completely car-free course will feature the most epic views and historic sites, live music from local artists, photo zones for instagrammable moments, and other fun surprises along the way, including a Shake Shack pit stop with delicious snacks.

Now, the best part: Philly Bike Ride offers Student Registration for just $25. Other registration types are available, from bundles with cycling jerseys for your team to bike and helmet rentals at an affordable rate.

The Philly Bike Ride experience was intentionally designed to welcome participants of all ages (3+) and from all ability levels and will offer mechanical support along the course as well as fully stocked rest stops with snacks, water, and fresh produce.

Pedal past the historic sites of Center City and Independence Hall, enjoy water views along Penns Landing and Kelly Drive, and take in charming neighborhoods such as Manayunk.

Cross the finish line by the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Rocky Steps, and stick around for the post-ride Finish Festival at the Eakins Oval with music, food trucks, fun-filled activities, and giveaways from our partners.

Philly Bike Ride is a partnership with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, celebrating 50 years of their work and legacy, while bringing the community together in a big party to support youth cycling activities such as the Bicycle Coalition Youth Cycling program, which works with youth ages 12-18 across Philadelphia in building healthy habits, leadership, and independence through the sport of cycling.

Join in the most fun you can have on two wheels while touring the city’s historic sights. See you at the start line on Saturday, October 15, to enjoy this unique opportunity to bike through the vibrant city of brotherly love without cars. Whether you own a bike or not, all are welcome to ride and party at Philly Bike Ride.
