1. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at the National Constitution Center

The National Constitution Center honors Martin Luther King, Jr.’s lifelong dedication to justice, equality, and service for the greater good with free online educational programs throughout January, and free admission to the museum with special programs and events on January 16, 2023.

2. Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend at the Museum of the American Revolution

Join the Museum of the American Revolution to honor the life, service, and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. over MLK Weekend, discovering the ongoing legacy of the American Revolution and learning what it takes to change the world.

3. Volunteer with Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service

This year marks the 28th annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service. From serving meals to people experiencing homelessness, to community cleanups throughout Philadelphia, this robust list of service opportunities is a great place to start your search for volunteering and service projects.

4. The African American Museum in Philadelphia: The Big Give Back

The African American Museum in Philadelphia honors Dr. King’s work in the war on poverty by making a change in their own backyard. On Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend, the museum and Center of Hope partner to provide personal care packs to brothers and sisters in Philadelphia experiencing homelessness. From warm socks and clean underwear to diapers, formula, and feminine hygiene products; they are committed to positively influencing those in need.

5. Martin Luther King, Jr., Tribute Concert

Join Yannick and Your Philadelphia Orchestra as they return to Girard College and honor the life and work of the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  celebrating our Philadelphia community and the uniting power of music.

The concert is free, but tickets are required. Secure your ticket here! Seating is general admission and on a first-come, first-served basis starting 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance.
