Our beautiful main campus in the Philadelphia metropolitan area is located just 14 miles south of the city. Widener also has two law schools: Commonwealth Law School in Harrisburg, PA and Delaware Law in Wilmington, DE.

At Widener, we place a high priority on helping students balance academic excellence with competitive athletic play. The Pride competes at the NCAA Division III intercollegiate level as a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference, the oldest and largest in the nation. Widener sponsors 22 varsity sports—11 for men (baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field, and volleyball) and 11 for women (basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field, and volleyball). You can also compete in various club sports, including ice hockey, men’s and women’s rugby, and water polo.


With more than 80 student clubs and organizations, you can explore almost any interest at Widener. Students are active in special interest groups such as sororities/fraternities, dance, community service, and the pep band. Each year, our resident, commuter, and international students mix and mingle at more than 300 campus events.

Programs of Study

Widener University is esteemed for its academic quality; access to professors; and focus on experiential learning, leadership development, career preparation, and community service.

You can choose from more than 60 undergraduate majors and minors or pursue one of our pre-professional programs, namely pre-law, pre-medicine, pre-physical therapy, and pre-occupational therapy.

Widener also offers numerous graduate and professional degrees in areas such as business administration, arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences, engineering, education, human sexuality, physical therapy, law, nursing, and social work.


Widener’s residence halls range from traditional, double-person rooms to apartments, suite-style living arrangements, and small themed houses. First-year students can also live in one of our living learning communities, where they share common residential and academic experiences.
