The African American Museum in Philadelphia in partnership with “me too” invites you to a special evening of healing in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.People of African descent have suffered and survived various forms of violence throughout the course of history. Healing has been both our cultural heritage and our birthright, even when it comes to more challenging forms of violence such as sexual harm. At me too. International we understand sexual harm to be a byproduct of patriarchal violence and white supremacy. One of our core functions is to curate resources, programming, and messaging that center healing through the lens of racial and gender-based justice. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, me too. International is partnering with AAMP to offer a 90-minute workshop. We invite 25 survivors to co-create brave space and engage our newest digital offering, Survivor Sanctuary, a self-guided healing platform geared towards survivors of sexual assault. We will also share tangible skills for how to best hold space and create community with other survivors.

This workshop will conclude with creating an art monument that archives our visions for healing and for a world free of sexual violence. Participants are invited to be vulnerable at a pace that feels right for them. Learn more about the organization: www. metoomvmt.org
