Join us for a student bootcamp series exploring the Elastic stack and its practical uses. You’ll learn the basic architecture of Elastic, how to perform CRUD operations with Elasticsearch and Kibana and how to fine-tune your search results. Finally, you’ll create a fast React web application utilizing Elastic Cloud and Elastic Enterprise Search. See how quickly you can get set up, ingest data, discover the search interface, and analyze and tune a search engine for your needs. Participants who attend all three sessions will receive an official Certificate of Completion and will be entered to win Elastic swag!

Part 1: Elasticsearch and Kibana

Elasticsearch is known as the heart of the Elastic Stack, which consists of Beats, Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana. The Elastic Stack allows us to take data from any source, in any format, then search, analyze, and visualize it in real time. If you are a developer who is looking to make data usable in real time and at scale, Elasticsearch and Kibana are great tools to have on your belt.

Part 2: Understanding the relevance of your search

“I love it when my search engine retrieves irrelevant search results,” said nobody ever. Getting fast and relevant search results at scale is key to providing a great search experience to your users. Elasticsearch is a powerful search and analytics engine designed to do just that! In Part 2 of this series we’ll dive more deeply into how search works and how to improve our search results.

Part 3: Creating a Diversity Org App with Enterprise App Search

Discovering groups that focus on serving underrepresented folks in tech in your area can be a challenge. Elastic’s Community commitment to serve underrepresented groups gives us the desire to help our practitioners grow in both using the Elastic Stack but also as developers and technologists. The Enterprise AppSearch platform is an excellent tool to get a search experience off the ground
