First Friday! Black Buttafly

Enjoy an evening of art, live music, cocktails, and light fare at our monthly First Friday mixer. Tonight’s program is presented in partnership with BlackStar Film Festival, an annual celebration of the visual storytelling traditions of the African diaspora, showcasing films by Black, Brown, and Indigenous artists from around the world. Our collaboration with BlackStar features music by Philly-based vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader Black Buttafly, whose soulful sound fuses R&B, hip hop, and jazz. She has shared the stage with an impressive array of artists, including Res, Orion Sun, Omar’s Hat, and Meshell Ndegeocello. This past March, Black Buttafly released “Imagine,” the first single from her upcoming debut solo EP. Live music sets: 6:30 & 7:45pm. First Friday at the Barnes includes access to the collection galleries and William Edmondson: A Monumental Vision. Seating is limited. Cocktails and light fare are available
