Job Summary

Instructors will be working with 10 students per class at Lil’ Filmmakers office or Drexel Dornsife Media Lab for our summer Real to Reel program. Real to Reel program is an intense hands-on filmmaking program which will run through July 6th to August 18th. In this program, students are going to make a short film from idea to the final film.

Current Hiring Needs Include:

Schedule: Part Time, 20 hours per week for 6 weeks
Salary: $3,000
Subject: Narrative Filmmaking
Populations to be served: 14-24 years old

Job Responsibilities:
• Review and teach our filmmaking curriculum.
• Integrate filmmaking tools and supplemental activities into classroom instruction.
• Analyze storytelling examples, including film scenes, film stories, animation stories, etc.
• Provide hands-on instructions, including directing, camera operations, lighting, microphone set up, acting, etc.
• Review and provide brief feedback to all students’ assignments.
• Guide students from initial idea to final short narrative film.
• Attend required teacher preparation meetings.
• Maintain a positive working relationship and strong communication with program staff.

Qualifications:

• Film related bachelor’s degree required or equivalent 3-5 years’ experience in filmmaking.
• Minimum of one year's classroom teaching experience required (may include internship, volunteer teaching assignment, or small group tutoring).
• Strong scriptwriting skills
• FBI, child abuse, and PA criminal background clearances are required.

• Ability to work well with diverse populations and develop positive relationships with students, colleagues and partners in the field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong oral communication and teaching skills.
• Proficiency using video editing and scriptwriting software.
