I love the character and history of this neighborhood, with its cobblestone alleys and 18th-century homes – it’s so charming everywhere you turn!

Old City is extremely walkable – you’ll discover amazing spots like ELFRETH’S ALLEY (the nation’s oldest continuously inhabited street), the LIBERTY BELL, BETSY ROSS HOUSE and INDEPENDENCE HALL. You can spend a full day at the MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION (show your ID for a discount!).

Dinner at CUBA LIBRE is a must – you feel like you’ve been transported out of the country! After dinner, stop by
FRANKLIN FOUNTAIN to try their homemade ice cream.

Sometimes I like to hit up a café with friends to get schoolwork done, and Old City has plenty of hidden gems, like

I love just walking down 2nd and 3rd streets, or along Market Street, and exploring the interesting and unique shops like SMAK PARLOUR, UNITED BY BLUE and NEVER TOO SPOILED.

On the FIRST FRIDAY of each month, Old City’s shops, restaurants, studios and galleries open their doors to the public – often free, and you’re bound to find something unique.

There’s always an awesome event happening on SOUTH STREET, and plenty of eclectic shops, cafés, budget-friendly restaurants, tattoo parlors and art galleries. Check out the mosaic maze of the PHILADELPHIA MAGIC GARDENS – a great spot for taking photos!
