Campus Philly Stakeholder Newsletter

November 2015

Dear Campus Philly Stakeholder,

We meet students every day eager to meet Philadelphia. Their questions range from what is a token? to the more strategic, if the job description says 1-3 years’ experience, do my internships count? These, and many other, questions were answered by Campus Philly at our line-up of eight Fall events, bookended by CollegeFest at Dilworth Park on September 12 and Open Arts College Night at the Barnes on November 13. Read more in this month’s newsletter about how we brought thousands of students in touch with Philadelphia this fall and how you can get involved.

5,000 Students Converged at CollegeFest

CollegeFestThousands of free PHLASH rides, 30 great exhibitors, eight free museums and hundreds of #meetphilly hashtags made for one amazing day at Dilworth Park. Check out our CollegeFest video, wrap-up report, and sales information for next year when we’ll be returning to Dilworth Park again – September 10, 2016!

Then, They Met Our Region’s Employers

Campus Philly CareersThe job board at is often the first place students and employers meet and then we see those connections come alive at our in-person career events. This fall Campus Philly hosted 352 students from 29 different schools at events focused on Finance, Healthcare Innovation and the Creative Economy. Students listed “meeting professionals in my field” as their #1 reason for attending. Thank you to the Campus Philly corporate members and partner companies who joined us to network with students.

And, They Experienced Some Great Art Together

Students at My Philly SummerThree Open Arts College Nights dotted the evening landscape this fall, with 2,000 students participating in the series. Students enjoyed the big-screen broadcast of La traviata at Opera Philadelphia’s Opera on the Mall. The Philadelphia Orchestra’s Free College Concert was packed with students. And, the Barnes Foundation opened its doors, dancefloor and galleries to students for their first free College Night on November 13 and announced their new, free weekday admission policy for students. With more than 7,000 student members, Campus Philly’s Open Arts program brings a whole new audience to arts and culture partners and shows students the richness of Philadelphia arts community.
