Michelle is an East Coast native born in West Lafayette, Indiana. After time spent in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, she began to call Washington D.C. home. After first coming to Philadelphia by way of Villanova University, she fell in love with the vibrant culture, excellent restaurant scene, and small town feel of the city. Ashley Cappetta
Content Marketing Manager

Ashley moved to Philadelphia in 2013 to pursue her bachelor’s degree at Saint Joseph’s University. She decided to stay in Philadelphia upon graduating, feeling there was too much to explore after making Manayunk, and later, Old City, her new home. After interning at Campus Philly in 2016, Ashley fell in love with its culture and mission, and rejoined the team as the Content Marketing Manager after gaining experience in both the ad agency and startup sectors. Marissa Christie
Vice President, Student Engagement

Marissa has called Philadelphia home for more than ten years, graduating from Temple University with a dual focus in Strategic Communications and Spanish. Since then, she has worked in meaningful Marketing and Communications roles within the agency, non-profit, startup, and hospitality industries. Marissa’s enthusiasm for sharing all that the city has to offer led her to Campus Philly in 2018, when she joined the team as the Engagement Director. Deanna Crusco

Deanna Crusco
Manager, Corporate Relations

Deanna channels her passions for Philadelphia and social impact as Manager of Corporate Relations. A native New Yorker who fell in love with Philadelphia after an internship at Campus Philly, she enjoys connecting employers to students who’ve equally found a home in the city. Deanna loves exploring all the unique neighborhoods across the city, cheering for the Villanova Wildcats, and binge watching sitcoms from the early 2000s. Contact Deanna at

Deborah Diamond

Deborah Diamond, PhD

Deborah joined Campus Philly in 2010 as president. She began her career as a college professor, teaching political philosophy at Columbia University and Bryn Mawr College. But after falling in love with Philadelphia as a place to live, she shifted focus, launched a career in market research and joined Visit Philadelphia as their first director of research and strategy. Working and raising two kids in the city has led to a deep appreciation of Philadelphia’s playgrounds, public schools, and errands easily done on a walk home from work. Deborah holds a BA from Bryn Mawr College and an MA and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.  She is chair of the board of the Greater Philly Hillel Network. Contact Deborah at

Roger Estes
Creative Director

Roger decided to move to Philadelphia in 2004, a few months after graduating from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University in New York State. Before joining Campus Philly he was a Graphic Designer at Visit Philadelphia, and has also worked on projects with Whipped Bakeshop and some other local businesses. Roger enjoys riding his bike year-round in all conditions, snowboarding, making animated GIFs, being in the woods and building things out of wood. Contact Roger at

Debra Kim
Graphic Designer

Debra was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. Her family later moved to the suburbs to finish the remainder of her youth years. She reconnected with Philadelphia when she started her undergrad studies as a graphic design student at Moore College of Art and Design. She spent the summer of 2016 at the Philadelphia Brewing Co. as a graphic design intern. Her time at PBC helped Debra gain valuable creative experiences. Debra joined Campus Philly after graduating from Moore and she is learning new things about Philadelphia while performing her design duties. In her free time Debra likes to visit art museums, watch foreign films, explore Philadelphia for the newest places to eat, and find new jams to listen to on her commute. Contact Debra at

Courtney Lippincott
Operations Manager

Courtney is a South Jersey native who has always considered the greater Philadelphia area home. She returned to the region in 2012 to work as a news producer at WPVI- Action News. Most recently, she supported international students at Temple University’s Center for American Language and Culture. Courtney earned her B.A. in Communications; Journalism from Susquehanna University. In her free time you can find her baking, planning trips, and visiting Philadelphia area pizzerias in search of a slice that can top Tacconelli’s. Contact Courtney at

Ayannah McIlwain
Events Manager

Ayannah is a native of West Philadelphia and a recent graduate from Cabrini University. In her undergraduate years at Cabrini she planned and executed many events for the student body centered around leadership and engagement. During the Summer of 2019 Ayannah held an internship at Delaware River Waterfront Corporation located in the Penn’s Landing neighborhood. There she worked on and produced a wide variety of family-fun programs and festivals. Towards the conclusion of her internship she wanted to continue her career in the city. After reflecting on the impact that Campus Philly had on her college experience, Ayannah knew that she wanted to be apart of that experience for other students. Naima Murphy

Naima Murphy
Senior Director, University Relations

Naima moved to Philadelphia in 2013 to pursue her Master’s Degree at Drexel University. Upon arrival, she fell in love with the city’s cultural vibrancy, musical history, and diversity of neighborhoods. She joined the Campus Philly Partnerships team after years of building collaborative relationships between local companies and non-profit organizations in the city. Bianca Portillo-Maldonado
Partnerships Coordinator

Bianca is a Philadelphia native who grew up in Northeast section of the city. She is also a proud Nittany lion who graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2018 and studied Mass Media Communications. Her passion for connecting and building relationships with people stems from her Guatemalan parents who immigrated in the late 80’s to North Philadelphia. They instilled the importance of community service to Bianca, which allowed her to start her very own scholarship with Esperanza Academy in 2017. Ashlie Thornbury
Vice President, Partnerships

Ashlie Thornbury leads Campus Philly’s Partnerships team, which generates and fulfills partnerships that provide valuable opportunities for thousands of college students. Ashlie joined Campus Philly in 2011, directing career programs & events. She launched the Corporate Membership Program in 2012, which she continues to oversee and grow in addition to many successful marketing partnerships. Locally, Ashlie serves on the membership committee for Power, a professional association for women. She is also on the communications and marketing advisory council for Women’s Way, a nonprofit that inspires and mobilizes the community to invest in organizations and leaders that will advance the rights of and opportunities for women and girls, and achieve gender equality for all. Ashlie also serves on the sponsorships committee of the HR Person of the Year Awards. Nationally, she serves on the Volunteer Advisory Council for the American Brain Tumor Association and every fall since 2007 plans and produces an annual 5K fundraiser to benefit that organization in memory of her aunt.
