Campus Philly Stakeholder Newsletter

August 2015

Dear Campus Philly Stakeholder,

Campus Philly is producing eight events this fall that will foster students’ life-long attachment to Philadelphia. Four of the events you’ll read about below will introduce students to growing industries for internships and entry-level jobs, and four will expose students to our incredible arts and culture scene as well as the city in general. Students will not only start to shape their futures in Philadelphia through these events, they will meet and connect with students from other campuses, building the relationships and connections that make for a stronger Philadelphia. Please be in touch to participate in these events and help us show students the incredible city that awaits them.

First things first.

CollegeFestCollegeFest is taking place on September 12 at Dilworth Park! Students will meet thousands of other college students, get free rides on the citywide PHLASH bus, receive free admission to participating museums, enjoy pop-up performances from our Open Arts partners, and more, all for free. For more info, to organize a group trip to CollegeFest, or to get involved, contact Patrick Sherlock at

Career events lineup.

CollegeFestThis fall, Campus Philly is producing four great career events for college students in a variety of fields, including finance, healthcare innovation and the creative & cultural sectors. These free events provide two opportunities to students: to learn about the many career paths within Philadelphia’s thriving industries and to get introduced to employers who are interested in recruiting or mentoring our region’s future workforce. Interested in learning more? Contact Jen Devor at

And the Open Arts events!

Campus Philly CupLearning the Philadelphia landscape wouldn’t be complete without the arts. This fall, Campus Philly’s Open Arts program is partnering with three cultural venues for the Open Arts College Night Series. The free series kicks off with Opera Philadelphia’s annual Opera On The Mall on October 3, when students can bring friends and picnic on the Independence Mall lawn while watching the broadcasted performance. Then comes the Philadelphia Orchestra's Free College Concert on October 20, welcoming hundreds of students to the orchestra’s season kickoff. November ends the College Night Series with a celebratory evening at the Barnes Foundation on November 13 complete with music, performances and an opportunity to view the unique collection. Looking back on My Philly Summer.

Campus Philly Career EventThe 5th annual My Philly Summer Program has wrapped, and it was our most successful year yet! During the first part of the summer, we gave 22 “Philly 101” presentations to 1,148 students interning at 38 regional companies, including a special startup edition sponsored by Blackstone LaunchPad Philadelphia that engaged students interning at local startups. Then on July 14, 250 interns, representing 140 different companies, attended our My Philly Summer Party. Highlights of the party included networking bingo, a selfie station overlooking the Philadelphia skyline, and remarks from Comcast welcoming new and returning interns to the city and their space. Check out photos from the party, and we hope you participate next year!

Welcome to returning corporate members!

Campus Philly is proud to welcome back returning members Lincoln Financial Group and TargetX to our Corporate Membership Program. We thank them — and all of our corporate members — for supporting Campus Philly's mission and look forward to working with each of them to connect with our region's college students and recent graduates.

Thanks as always for your continued support of Campus Philly,
