On Jan. 16, the evening will be themed around the museum’s first limited-run exhibit, "Among His Troops: Washington’s War Tent in a Newly Discovered Watercolor," which is open Jan. 13 through Feb. 19. The exhibit presents a newly discovered 235-year-old, 7-foot panoramic painting of a 1782 Continental Army encampment. Independence Day Celebration at the Museum of the American Revolution

The Museum will celebrate with music, family-friendly activities, and costumed historical interpreters, including Thomas Jefferson, the original author of the Declaration, who will meet and greet visitors. Visitors can enjoy a free slice of cake in honor of the nation's real birthday, the date that Continental Congress declared independence from Great Britain. The event is free with museum admission!

At the Museum of the the American Revolution is holding an event that commemorates George Washington, the first President of the United States.  Guest's can dress-up in costumes that represent the Revolution.  Guests can also see the field tent that was Washington's headquarters during the Revolutionary War.

Follow the signs and find your way to learn about what types of symbols, like the Lion and the Unicorn, were used to unify the British Empire on everyday objects like tavern signs and ceramics.
